A Window from the Soul

This is a window looking out of my house. My house is part of my soul.
It needs me and I need it.
At times I wake in the morning and hate my house and all of the work I need to put into it.
Other times I love my house and cant see living anywhere but in it.
Depends on the view.

Sleeping...and Other Bad Habits

Wanted to start a new blog, not a "life is..." blog but I thought... its where I always go so why fight it.
My new blog was to be; beautiful and fresh with pictures of the loveliness that surrounds me, pictures of my perfectly stylish home, my wonderful decorating abilities, my cutting edge knowlege of what is going to be "in-and-I-got-it" kind of blog...usher in a new look that will take the world by storm!! I went to sleep instead and I am waking up nearly a year later.
While I was sleeping...seasons blew in and blew out, my grandchildren grew and one was born, my daughter turned 15, my husband left, my friend circle took in a few more faces, my habits changed ( I really do like Gin and Tonic), yes, my life changed and I slept through it. My house, still the same, tired but comfortable hand-me-down furniture, unfinished ceilings and walls and a too-hot-to-sleep-in upstairs bedroom...Ive moved to my daughters room to wait out these 100+ degree days...no upstairs A/C for me...have to be frugile...ahhh just for a few hours?...nope, just sweat it out so I'm not sweating out that bill at the end of the month. Nothing but a daily dose of reality for me now.
Here I am, open to the world, just me, it-is-what-it-is, what you see is what you get, no pretense, nothing elaborate aside from my blonde highlights covering the gray and my painted pink toenails to kick up the fun a notch! I am who I am.
I have been trying to arouse myself from this sleep walk however it has been easier to nap and let the chips fall where they may. NoNoNo I am ready to wake up and get back to life... the alarm clock has been ringing in my ears to wake up, wake up...the rooster has been crowing...damn him, I could ring his neck and make a gumbo!
Where was I?
Oh, hello, I say sweetly as I look up from the pages of the lastest decorating magazine, did you enjoy my home?
